As the link says; this is about the ending of a pair of stories and the start of another.
My wife Marsi and I got married on August 23, 2010. This was
the first marriage for both of us, and that's somewhat unusual given
our ages. She's 42 and I am 44.
The delay is easy to understand. We were both terrified of bad marriages. Both her family and mine went through some horrific times during our respective parents' divorces, and we had no intention of repeating those.
The story of how we got together is an interesting one and I'll write about that at some point. We are very similar in both outlook and upbringing, so much so that in some ways we have more in common with each other than we do with out own sibilings. It took us a very long time to get together - we had known each other for almost two years - but once we did, it took us less than a week to decide to get married.
We are now going through the inevitable adjustments of learning how to live together, cook together, keep a house together and do all the things that a married couple must do to stay successfully married. And we are very, very determined to do that.
Some wedding pics for your viewing pleasure. There are more, and eventually I'll turn this page into an album:

The vows. It's quite an experience. Thanks to my stepfather Jim, who climbed into the jungle that was this bower to capture this great shot!

We did rehearse this part.

Who's this group of people? Well, it's 9 parents and stepparents. We love them all dearly...but are there any more questions on why Marsi and I waited so long to get married? Thought not.

My wife, showing an unnerving dexterity with the knife. You can see me in the mirror.

Both of us realizing that, yes, that's the arbor, and yes, we're getting married, and dammit, we didn't bring running shoes so we're going to have to go through with it.
There
will
be much, much more, both writing and marriage and life.
