Somebody had to make this page - AirLink 101 obviously doesn't know how to write good instructions and I haven't seen any others out there.  Without further ado, here's how one sets up the AIRLINK 250W wireless internet camera using WPA-PSK.  These instructions don't apply to setting up this camera using any other form of encryption.

Additionally, let me make something very clear:  I'm not tech support.  If you're having problems setting up the camera call AirLink - don't email me.  These cameras are frustrating as hell to set up so consider yourself warned - there's a good reason they were so cheap, OK?

With that in mind, here's as much help as I can give you.

1.  Install AirLink's horrible camera management software on your computer.  What?  You don't run Windows?  Too bad, loser.  Better take those cameras back where you bought 'em from, or buy a computer made by a company not in alliance with hippies and communists.

2.  Connect camera to an Ethernet port on your router, switch or hub using an Ethernet cable.  You can't do this wirelessly.

3.  Start AirLink 101's crap management software and let it find your new camera, which has a default address of 192.168.1.240.  Assuming that you're not using a 192.168.1.xxx subnet, the crap software supposedly will give you the option to change to an address on your subnet - do so if needed.

4.  Once the miserable software finds your camera, click the "wizard" button.

5.  You should probably change the administrator user name and password to something other than the defaults, which are "admin" and "admin".

6.  You should probably also change the IP address to something other than the default, or set it to use DHCP.

7.  Once you get to the wireless configuration page, set camera wireless to "adhoc" mode.  Select "WEP" encryption even though you're not going to use it.  Proceed onward with the wizard and be sure to select "ASCII" for the WEP input.  This is vital for later.

8.  Finish the wizard and let it reboot the camera.

9.  Once that's done, wait for the management software to find the camera again.

10.  Run the wizard again

11.  Click "NEXT" (since you won't be changing the username or IP sections) until you reach the wireless section.

12.  Wireless setup will still be in ADHOC mode.  Select the right channel for your setup.

13.  Change from "ADHOC" to "INFRASTRUCTURE".

14.  Select "PSK" as your security type.

15.  Go to the next page and enter your key.

16.  Finish wizard and reboot camera.

17.  Click the "web config" button on management software.  Internet Exploder launches.

18.  Log in to the camera with the username and password you selected earlier.

19.  Click on "wireless" under the management menu.  The "Link" field will say "DISABLED".

20.  Disconnect the Ethernet cable linking the camera and your router/switch/hub.

21.  Click "refresh" on the "wireless" management page.

22.  "Link" should now say "Yes".

23.  Disconnect camera from power supply and reconnect, allow about a minute and a half for the camera to reboot.  Camera should be working wirelessly.
